The Peritus commitment to Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality.
(SHEQ) Management is key to how we think, how we plan, how we behave and most importantly how we deliver.
Health and safety
Health and safety is fundamental to everything we do at Peritus Building Services. It is a core value that ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, best practise and company procedures.
To achieve this we continuously review our policies to ensure our excellent records in Health and safety, training and development are maintained and kept at the top of our agenda in our activities. Our internal safety team support our operational teams and monitor and audit all of our working environments.
We are proudly committed to providing a safe and happy environment for our employees, partners and people in the communities where we work.
The construction industry has long been recognised as one of the most resource-hungry and therefore least sustainable industries in the world. However we continue to depend on buildings of all kinds and face significant challenges in making environmental improvements to reduce the industries impact on the environment.
At Peritus we are committed to protecting the environment and minimising the environmental impact of our works by diverting non-hazardous construction waste from landfill and to reducing the amount of waste we produce in the first place. As such our construction activities are carefully planned to avoid unnecessary nuisance, disruption of natural and wildlife habitats and other landscape features.
Our policy of Responsible Sourcing ensures materials are procured in a responsible and ethical way; and wherever possible “environmentally friendly” materials are proposed and used in our projects. This policy ensures we only purchase timber from sustainable producers who comply with PEFC; FSC or similar certification purchasing policies.
We are certified by a number of SSIP members including CHAS, Safecontractor and Constructionline
